The bacteria is normally in your body, however it does NOT belong in your bladder. It often is caused by women not properly wiping after toilet activities (you should wipe front to back). You can have an upper UTI (urinary tract infection) or a lower (usually females have only lower). Also
Chlamydia and Mycoplasma
can cause UTI, usually through sexual intercourse. For further information read the article by www.LEF.org
- Drink more water. It is very important to drink a lot of water when suffering from a bladder infection in order to dilute the urine.

Frequently people opt for the supplements. Cranberry extract can be found in most healthfood stores. On line www.LEF.org look under CranMax (500 mg of cranberry extract). Cranberries make the urine more acid and the E. coli bacteria cannot live in that environment. Also it may prevents the E. coli bacteria from adhering to the bladder lining. Cranberries also have been know to help with destroying the Helicobacter pylori bacterium (causes most ulcers), prevents the formation of plaque on the teeth, raises HDL (good cholesterol), and induces apoptosis (good cell death).
- Take more Probiotics. Probiotics consists of acidophilius and bifidus. Select a good brand and keep it in the refrigerator. Also consider increases your intake of plain yoghurt with active cultures.
- Take D-Mannose. D-mannose is a naturally occuring sugar and sticks to the E. Coli bacteria and both the bacteria and the D-Mannose then gets expelled from the body. Learn more about D-Mannose on www.drmercola.com website.
